So. I has a new computer! Its not the same computer I
was looking at last week (which I had totally decided I was going to get, as it was on sale for $400) because when we went to best buy last night to purchace it, they were sold out. Utterly sold out. As in, every store in Minnesota was sold out of them, and they had none in stock in their online store, either. So, we waited for the new ads to come out with the sunday paper (though, actually, I looked them up last night on their website, and then reconfirmed the price this morning with the newspaper ad). I ended up getting
this one, an Acer Aspire, now named Harmony. It was generally in my price range, had a good amount of storage (160GB), a decent ammount of memory (2GB DDR2), and even has a number pad off to the left side (which seems to be rare on laptops, but I tend to prefer on computers in general). I'm currently at the Panera in Roseville, generally relaxing and setting it up (though transfering stuff from my old laptop and downloading maple story and such will have to wait til I get home). Its such a joy to be typing on a fully functional keyboard, with a fully functional mousepad, I can't even begin to express it. Its been a long time since I just sat and relaxed anywhere, with no worries as to where I need to be or what I need to accomplish.
Mark and Corwin are off in the play place, which is definately a good thing. Hopefully it will sufficiently tire him out so there can be naps all around when we get home. I know I could use one (I think I have a bit of a bug...last night I laid in bed from 8:30 til about 2, drifting in and out of conciousness with cramps in my abdomen...i'm feeling much better this morning, but still snuffly in the nose and pretty tired).
It looks as if we will not be going to Michigan this Chrismas, which is fairly relieving. I'm slightly anxious about telling my mother-in-law, since I know she looks forward to seeing us (especially Corwin!) but it takes a lot of stress off of me, regarding travel and time off and such. It will also be nice to spend the couple days off relaxing at home rather than rushing around trying to visit everyone. I still hope to go out to Michigan at some point, perhaps for Corwin's birthday this year since that's the other time we usually see grandma and grandpa Tipper.
I may or may not post more later, but I should really call my mom back (I haven't talked to her since before Thanksgiving).
