yay house!
so we have a house!
after a bit of an issue with the bank originally not signing all the paperwork for the house they're selling us, all is taken care of, all papers are signed, and allen, mark and i are the proud owners of a nice (if slightly used) house. we spent the better part of the day cleaning, getting carpets steam cleaned, and generally working around the house (for instance, mark has brought the front yard back from near death). mark has tomorrow off too, and plans on spending the day doing as much as he can on his list of things that need be done. i have to work the next several days, so i don't think that i'll be going back for a bit (unfortunately)
in other news, allen's grandma died this morning. her cancer that was gone for 15 years suddenly came back, and she died of it this morning. last time allen was out in michigan, he got to spend some time with her, which turns out to be a good thing. he is making plans to fly out for her funeral (which is friday, but he hopes to be there for the viewing on thursday as well).
i'm sad that i didn't get to see her one last time, and won't be able to, since we can't really afford for both of us to fly out. she was always very nice to me, though i didn't know her as well as i'd have liked to.
it was an exhausting day. time for a bit of relaxing with a book before i go to bed (which is going to be soon either way)
