computer woes
i am seriously going to throw my laptop across the room pretty soon. there's something wrong with the switch that makes it go into standby mode/make the screen dark when it's closed, and so now pressing on it in a certain way (or just holding and adjusting it in my lap) can make it either restart, go into standby, or make the screen dark (which can only be remedied by poking the hole that the lid hook goes into with something pokey). its reaaallly aggravating, and we don't have money for me to get a replacement, and i'm worried that one of these times it won't want to wake back up (i should feel better because i'm sure Allen could retrieve anything still on my computer but its the principle of the thing...). arrgh.
otherwise, life is going at a slow and steady pace. i have a good bit of slow time at work (yay for not working so much in a hot kitchen, boo being paid less because i'm not at work...)
rea is in town, and is staying over at my house until friday, so that's pretty cool.
we've placed another bid on another house (one that i like quite a bit and think will be good for us) now we just have to cross our fingers and hope that we out-bid the other people that bid on it the same day...

if we don't get the house, we'll have to start looking for somewhere to rent. i really don't want to live in an apartment setting again (this means no condos either) and we have maybe a month to figure it all out. they''re (supposedly) going to try to sell the house we're living in before it gets foreclosed on in september, but the landlords were also supposed to come by sometime last week with a realtor (and to fix our kitchen sink) and that didn't happen. anyway, i've really got to get started sorting out all our junk and boxing stuff up for a move, where ever it may take us.
and with those last 2 standbys, i'm done. argh.
