I dreamt last night that there was a worm in my bedroom that grew and grew and would not stop growing. Eventually, it sprouted scales and became a snake. Then a giant snake. It quite viciously ate the wedding cake that was sitting in my room for some reason.
At a loss, I ran outside to where my GSI was waiting impatiently for me to get my lab checked off, and I begged for his help in getting rid of the snake. He thought it was my pet and that I was trying to give it to him out of pity because his pet snake had recently died. (He still kept its vacant glass cage in the back of his truck.) I calmly explained, "NO. IT IS A GIANT SNAKE THAT WILL NOT STOP GROWING, AND I AM PRETTY SURE IT IS INDESTRUCTIBLE (although I have not tried to destroy it, being too scared to do so)."
He decided, "Fine. Maybe my pet eagle can eat it."
That's when I woke up. I therefore do not know whether we ever got the snake out of my room, or if it was really indestructible, or if the bit that the eagle ate grew into another snake that burst out of said eagle, or if the snake expanded in the back of my GSI's truck until the truck exploded. It was an interesting dream, though, and it made me wonder whether I am afraid of snakes (or worms). I don't think I am. I think I'm just afraid of things that grow.
