havent read it yet, am drunk and have my iTunes on random and "Don't Stop Believin" is on and I am browsing web and thought I'd just check by here PRAYING TO GOD youd updated and I squealed when I saw you did. I really hope this will help cheer me up from the sadness of reading some real shitty MerDer spoilers for S4 and realizing... I don't even have the energy to care. I just won't watch. DAMN YOU SHONDA RHIMES.

Thanks so much :) I'm really glad you liked this chapter. This was all about comparing and contrasting Meredith's new/old families. Ellen, Susan, the interns, Derek. I totally agree that sometimes, even as adults, we need Mom. Mom can fix so many things! I'm glad I'm finally giving Meredith the opportunity to experience that.

I have been salivating over getting to the Meredith/Chief smackdown scene. I've had it in mind since chapter 1. Chief's BS in Time After Time made me so FURIOUS. It took me a damned long time, but I finally got to the point where all the setup I'd done allowed me to have Mere let it rip ;p

Thanks so much for the update!!!! I've been rereading this story most of the evening, and I was just about to sign off and go to bed when I found an update! LOVED this part, as with all the others. Thank you, thank you, thank you for not killing off Susan. Meredith and Susan have so many rich story possibilities that it was such a waste to kill her off just for fun like the show did. Thanks for giving Meredith a "real" fake mommy, and for having her stand up to her fake daddy. On to 36B!

Thanks so much for the feedback :) Glad you liked this part. I thought killing Susan was a waste too. Unless they get Meredith and Derek into a good enough place that they can bring in Derek's mother, I don't really see how they will ever address Meredith needing a mom. I'm glad I've gotten to it here in LST :) Now she has moms in spades!

Thanks so much :) I'm really glad you enjoyed this part.

The first time I started writing this part, Ellen was her supportive self, and then I really thought about it and decided, no... no she wouldn't be able to be supportive in this instance, so I went back and fixed it, and I think it turned out so much better this way.

I'm really glad to have the opportunity to work with the Susan/Mere relationship. I think it was a sorely missed opportunity on the show.

I hate Chief Webber. Vehemently. HATE HIM. I was furious with him after Time After Time. He had no excuse for what he did regarding Derek and his career. None. I like that he has a soft spot for Meredith, and as a person in his own right, I like him. But does his advice always have to SUCK? Lol. Yeah, getting an update on Derek wasn't necessarily something for Meredith to jump on him for, but everything else he's done thus far... ugh.

That was amazing!
I loved this part, when she was with Susan, that was amazing, seriously, thank God you didn't kill fake mommy.
And when she said all those thing to the Chief, I loved that too!
You are awsome, seriously!! :-)

Thanks so much :) I'm really enjoying the Susan/Meredith stuff, and, like I've mentioned upthread, I've been waiting to do that Chief scene since chapter 1. Yay that I finally got there!
