Oh! And about the author's note. I didn't actually notice any dialog pilfered from the show, so apparently you're kick ass at assimilation. Unlike 99% of fanfic authors who feel that taking a scene from the show and tweaking two words = writing. Not that that's a pet peeve or anything. *blink*

Rereading I can see which conversation you're talking about, but it didn't ping against my brain while reading the way it normally does. Go you!

Thank you :) Part of it may have been that the context was completely changed, and I didn't use Derek's show-side of the conversation at all. I tweaked his reactions for the situation. When I actually do borrow this much from the show, I try very hard to make it worthwhile and not just copying.
