Title: All Along The Watchtower Fandom: Grey's Anatomy Pairing: Mer/Der Rating: M Summary: S6 continuation. Immediately post Sanctuary / Death and All His Friends.
You deserve a loooong comment for this chapter and you will get it, I promise. Tomorrow hopefully, as I'm too tired right now. But I just have to say I LOVE Mark's idea to entertain Derek and his solution to get on even footing :-)
Whoa, that was pretty gut wrenching, and intense and all kinds of fucked up. In the best possible way. I think I need a large gin and tonic after reading that.
I do love your Mark's reaction to Derek's melt down. It was very sensitive.
I gotta ask though, do you have any plans to have Meredith notice how freaked out he is by small things, and realize that she may be in over her head, and that he may need professional psychiatric help to get thru all this? He will fight her all the way in agreeing to get it, but that is on him.
Someone recovering from heart surgery is grumpy and grouchy all the time. I know that from experience. But they do not get freaked out by loud noises, or waking up to a strange person being in the room, or by a garbage truck coming down the street. Shouldn't warning lights be going off in her head sometime soon, especially as she is the best friend of a woman who was nearly killed by a man suffering from PTSD?
Thank you so much :) I've always wanted to give Mark more of a meaty role. Mark is on borrowed friendship right now. There is no reason Derek should even be giving him the time of day. Their reconciliation was so freaking rushed! I'm trying to let Mark get some positive karma back at least, since I have to run with atrocious canon ;p
Amazing. Simply amazing. It was all kinds of awesome. I'm so glad the shower scene went it. As you said it was bittersweet; I love that kind of stuff. Le sigh. I'm afraid that was only the beginning of Derek's anxiety attacks. That's starting to scare me even more. Big love for Mer! I love her all grown up.
Haha, the end had me laughing :) I love Derek and Mark. Good thing this chapter ended somewhat happier. You should get paid for writing this. Or win tons of pretty prizes.
Thank you for the feedback :) You are indeed correct about the anxiety attacks etc. This story is definitely a psychological one. Everything will become a little more clear by the end of part ... 11 I think.
I'm glad you enjoyed the ending with Mark and Derek. Writing that was last minute inspiration, and I'm so glad I included it.
The part I was nervous about posting was Derek wetting his pants. I was deeply afraid that people would see that happen in this fic, and then never want to come back again. It's not exactly pleasant reading to see somebody we love so distressed.
I plan to include more with Amelia at a later point. I'm glad you liked the start!
And you're very right about Derek. He's healing, physically. Mentally, he's down-spiraling, and it's not good.
