I got a Facebook so that I could stay in some sort of communication with people who aren't into LJ. I don't really use it that much, and I rarely check it unless I get an email from facebook telling me I have a message or something. So, I don't really like getting random friend invitations from people I don't know. Today I get an email saying that "Luther Ringold III" wants to friend me. Now apart from sharing the same last name, this person has very little in common with me. So thanks for the invite, Luther "I love Jesus and Detroit, Black Men from SSVU Rule!" Ringold from Michigan, but I think that's a no.
And while on the subject of Facebook, can I just rant that I don't understand the point of being in ninety hundred groups like "Joe Smith is the MAN" or "Red is my favorite color" or "People who love other people that love me" etc etc. I mean, I joined the Apple Students group because they actually give things away every once in a while, and the Harding Mac Users group because if I ever had a question, I could ask it there. I joined the OEGE group because that one made sense. Now, I do actually belong to a few other groups mainly because I'm terrified when I get an invite, if I click "reject" the person's going to get a note back like, "Stephanie Ringold thinks your stupid" or "Stephanie doesn't want to be a part of your group so she isn't really your friend" or something like that.
Like, a few weeks ago I get a friend invite from (i'm not lying here) from the most ANNOYING girl I have ever known in my life. She went to school with me in Ohio, from 8th-10th grade. She thought we were friends, mainly because I felt bad for her and wanted her to think she had friends. We liked the same guy in 8th grade and when he and I were "going out" the summer before our freshman year she used to call him/me all the time and ask us how things were going until he finally hung up on her and told her to leave us alone. Now, I don't want to not make her my friend (see last sentence of previous paragraph) but I don't really want her messaging me all the time like, "Hey, what's up, how's your life? You should come to Ohio and see me!"
The only good things that have come out of Facebook, aside from keeping in touch with my OEGE girls who don't have LJ, was getting back into contact with people from Kingwood I hadn't seen in four years and still *wanted* to be friends with. Like my best friend from senior year that we sort of stopped talking to after she made some bad decisions. Now we're friends again. One of my other friends I found out is pregnant. (Yay Jessie!) But you know, other than that, it's way overrated. I still like LJ better.
In other news, Yay! for defeating writers block once again! And very yay for being more than half done with the best thing I've ever written, ever. It rules, seriously. If you don't believe me, I will be more than happy to let you read part of it. But if you tell me it sucks I will hate you forever. Just kidding, I think I could use some second opinions.
PS - Ash, you totally need to rent the Chronicles of Narnia for GC and get Zeb or someone over and play it together, so fun. You can do 1 player, but it's better with 2.
