And the World Keep Turning

Man, I can't believe it's so damn close to September already! As the summer of 2008 rolls to a close, I think it's time to look back and see If I accomplished some of the goals I set out to achieve.

School
All in all I'd say this summer was a success. Despite having to take a couple of classes that only get offered once every other term. The original plan was to take it off so I could have at least a small break. Wrapping up this term means that I'll have gone from zero to graduation with not so much as a couple of weeks off at a time! The thought is as exciting as it is exhausting. On an up note, it looks like I may be eligible for the ritual that is the graduation walk come Spring of next year. We will just have to see. Im still considering a few MFA programs at this point. At this point, it's a solid decision between a Masters of Visual Communications and a Masters of Industrial Design, which would mean I get to design stuff like cars. Its actually a pretty tough decision and one I'll be thinking about for a few months more to come.

Fitness / Bodybuilding
A couple of you guys out there know i've had some ambition to get buff for quiet some time. Despite having been working out regularly for years now, I never was one to pack one muscle like I wanted to. Having a metabolism as fast as Speedy Gonzales and being 6'4" is a pretty bad combination for those who seek to gain weight. Some months ago, I read up on some stuff about what I was doing wrong and sought to change it. Now, i'm proud to say, i'm gaining some muscle. Seems like I'm finally making the right moves to get buff!

I've set a goal that by 30, i'd like to compete in at least one bodybuilding competition. This would be a personal breakthrough as there have been countless times where people have told me that this is something I can't do. Even members of my own family have thought it wise to tell me there are things I can't do. It hurts momentarily, but then it becomes fuel for the fire that drives me to break the limits that other think i'm bound by. In part, thats how I live my life but that's a story for another day.

For now, I've got a camping trip to get ready for. See you all on monday!
