Summer Term 2007 :: Official Recap
Alright! Now that I've had a few days to relax and actually reflect on the term that's just passed by, I think I can write about it thoughtfully; as opposed to dropping a cryptic, tiny journal entry like I did last time. Really though. Despite the condensed material and ultra-tight deadlines, I guess I did pretty good! Good enough to be sending off even more stuff than I thought to an upcoming competition.
All in all, the term was a great success! Though I'm not completely certain about my grades, I know they won't be far (if at all different) from what I estimated from my last entry. Though I know I probably fell short of my mark of three As, I'm still pretty proud of what I've accomplished. I really turned around from the mini-burnout I suffered near the middle of this term and finished strong.
HTML and Vector Graphics I'm pretty certain that I finished with As. Going into the finals, my grades in both classes were in the high A range so I'm pretty safe there. Design I managed to turn around and get a B I believe. My final project in that class got an A but not only that, it ALSO will be going to the HOW Magazine competition. That really surprised me as, through no fault of our own, the entire Design 243 class this term had to pretty much go from start to finish on the final for that class in 24 hours. It was literally do-or-die.
After all the dust settled and classes were over and done with, I really sat back and looked at the sheer volume of work I've produced these past couple of terms. While I may have stumbled in some places and created stuff that made me gag just for the sake of not suffering 0% on an assignment, a lot of my work is turning out really nice. Especially this term and last term. I'm really seeing myself grow as a designer and I can't wait to see what else I come up with between now and graduation!
Competition News
Alright! Now Its almost time for HOW Magazine's annual design competition. As it stands, I'll be entering four pieces. The deadline set by the campus Ad Art Director is Wednesday. Not much time to get four big projects printed and perfected. I'm going to try my best!
