I've been kind of playing with the internet tonight, and finally started the blog I'd wanted, called
Overheard in the South, and I want people to email me with weird random things they hear wherever they are in the South and I'll post them anonymously on the blog. Tell your friends about it too. One of my friends started
Overheard in the Valley for the area we go to school in and I thought the South needed one.
Anyway, I got really into all the blog building and almost considered telling everyone that they'd have to watch a different blog for my Italy updates, but I decided that it would be too much work to make sure everyone knew about it, and besides, I can always just change my theme/styles when I leave to achieve the same effect.
Anyway, today I stayed up really late (I don't remember when I went to sleep, but it proved to me that I'm now switched over to the nightshift internal clock) and woke up at 2:30. My mom had asked me to do some outside stuff, so I spent about 3 hours raking pine needles from the yard and mulching her flower beds with them and trimming the bushes next to the house. I also finished drying the bananas, strawberries, and apples I'm going to use for my kick-butt trail mix. I realized if I have something to snack on while I'm at work, as long as I eat a big meal before I get there, I don't actually get hungry all night and I don't eat the fried food when it is about to be thrown away at around 2. My waistline will thank me.
Hmm...in other news, Friday we took my grandmother's car away from her because it scares anyone who drives it and if the doctors had cleared her to drive, I was going to worry every time she got behind the wheel. It vibrated when it shouldn't and stuff like that, so we took it to our family's favorite mechanic, and then my mom and I went and got food from Taiwan and spent a few hours at Rob & Kay's. It's nice that we all live separately now because we can all stand each other for more than a few minutes at a time. I realized it at ASMS, but it's even more pronounced now that Rob's moved out. Anyway, I had my mom take me over to Alex and Mikey's and I ended up staying there until Sunday--sorry I didn't get to come over, Maggie and Marisa...I'll go to your house next time, deal? It was nice though, because I think that's the longest I've spent with them since we graduated, and I've REALLY missed the two of them. Hopefully next time I go see them, Little Maggie will be in the state ^_^ I slept a lot, so I guess I needed that too.
Now I need to actually buckle down and get my Windows virtual machine to talk to my Mac and visa versa so that I can actually work on Photoshop and get some things done that could earn me money. Thankfully the loan Smith offered me, combined with my grandmother's generosity should cover most expenses while I'm abroad, but I don't really want to take chances, so I'm still trying to earn extra. Geez, I can post a lot even when nothing is going on. I wonder what will happen when I'm DOING crap...heh...I probably won't post at all. ^_^ Hopefully I will.
