Update about riding

I'm just back of my riding lesson.

Next week will be my last lesson for a while. I stop to heal my shoulders and this time I'm serious since I do physiotherapy with a sport specialist plus my lil exercises twice a day. I also mentioned to Chantal, my trainer, that I would probably continue with another trainer. I was very sad to say so but I'm like that, I would be very uncomfortable to meet her somewhere doing some big riding exams without her on my sides.
The rational:
  • Western ride level three demands lessons AND practice. Every time I go there it is a total of 90 minutes driving and if you add the time at the stable, it can easily end up to a three hours, so it is taking too much time.
  • Yves has  three friends with horses in a ranch about 10 minutes from home, and they keep inviting us. I would like to get to know them, Having friends that loves horses would be a big plus in my life. I enjoy a lot my friendship with Erica but we don't ride a lot together ;). Of course, I know many people who like horses but none of them actually have one or take lessons.
  • The owner of that same ranch is the trainer of my trainer.
  • My trainer is so popular that I can't even get my horses ready to get a full 60 minutes session, I have to wait for a horse and  do the grooming on the time of my lesson. It was not the case when I started with her and I would like to find a place where it is more relaxed when it comes to transitions between two courses.
  • Less wasted gaz.
Some of theses reasons are trivial, the main one is really about having more time and to have the possibility to go practice whenever I feel like doing it.I know I can't expect any trainer to be as creative and enthusiastic as Chantal but once at level three, it is more technical so it doesn't matter as much as the first levels.Anyway if ever the new trainer is not good enough then I could always go back to Chantal.

Tonight I had a good lesson, learning the first steps to the exam level three. This time it is a pre-established pattern including two 360, change of gaits like stop to trot and other 'broken'  (translation from French) transitions, and more, All done  with a very good riding position and very subtle movements from my hands, butts and legs. i like it, no doubt about it!
