Name Changing--REPLIES REQUESTED!
So, Mama and I have been talking about this lately. And, we've come up with some pretty good ideas for my name.
As I mentioned on the first post to this journal, I am going to change my name to Lorraine Gore. But, I had no idea what to pick for a middle name. Mama and I have discussed it a lot, and we have come up with 2 options that both equally work.
Lorraine Ronelle Gore
The background for this middle name is that it's a feminine version of the man who I consider to be more of a father figure to me, and that's my Uncle Ron. So, "Ronelle" is kind of a namesake, and tribute to my Uncle Ron. This man is probably the best man I know, and I love him so damn much. He's always been a joy in my life, and I would feel a great void if he were not in it. He's kind, helpful, funny, compassionate, boisterous, rough-n-tumble.....everything I want in a Dad, and everything I want to be/am. So "Ronelle" is my way of showing the world what an impact he's had on my life.

Harley-Janis is a name my Mama picked out. First of all, my Mama loves Harleys....so I wasn't surprised she choose this name. But, Harley also means "hellraiser," which is very much me on many occasions. The "Janis" part of the name is a tribute to Janis Joplin....and my Mother swears that I am her reincarnated. LOL, I don't know about that, but I love Janis and everything she stood for. Hippie, bohemian, nonconformist, wild, lover, fighter, singer, soulful, and passionate. She has also had a tremendous impact on my life. If I had one wish, it surprisingly wouldn't be to see MLK's speech on the footsteps of the Lincoln Memorial. I would wish to go back in time to see Janis performing at Woodstock....or the Monterrey Pop Festival. I've give just about anything to see her live just......once. BUT! That can't happen, so this is a tribute to her.
So, you see my dilemma. I wanted a name, the full name, to have meaning. "Lorraine Ronelle Gore" is pretty much in all aspects my connection to the family that I love. "Lorraine Harley Janis Gore" is a combination of a connection to my family, and a connection to the spirit and passion of another amazing woman.
What do you guys think. What should my middle name be?
