RE the northerns and country music: Yes. LMMFAO Like, I'm from Northern NJ, yes? We're not more "refined" because that's bullshit, but the popular music is dance, hip hop, r&b stuff. The further you go into South Jersey, the more it's like going through the Mason-Dixon Line (not just from the music. Also from the attitudes and movements and living styles of the Southerns) .... and country music is pretty damn popular down there.
My gf lives in Tennessee and I told my friend from Newark (the ghetto. Not the only one or the worse one in NJ, but it's pretty craptastic living conditions in that city) that my friend liked some country music and she got all "O_O" and wanted me to swear that I wasn't getting into "that crazy shit." LMMFAO. So. Yeah. There's a big biased thing that goes on over county music up here.
We in the general NYC area is the only area in the country that doesn't have any country music stations on the radio dial. Like, at all. Even the crappy little AM stations don't play country.
LOL I'm not big on fashion myself, lol, but everyone's allowed their moments of vanity, and if you want yours to be fashion, then who cares what people think? LOL I like rockabilly music and I like country bluegrass.
