Cool weather, finally.

Supposed to only be in the 80s this week, which is a welcome relief!

Saturday I did an outdoor art market called Sweet William, which is less than a mile from my house. It was a great day as far as sales, because I sold two paintings. One of the vendors next to me was kind of ticked off, because he was selling little handmade jewelry trinkets. And he has to sell a lot of trinkets to make up for the booth cost space. He rented TWO booth spaces for a total of $200, and only sold $50 in merchandise. So I count myself blessed.

Having said that, I really find the outdoor markets to be a huge hassle. You have to set up by 6:30AM. That is a lot of setting up to do, what with a tent and display racks and the paintings themselves. Then there is the matter of weather. We had it good for most of the day, until around 2...when a HUGE gust of wind came up and I was forced to take my tent down and sit in the sun instead. I was afraid it was going to blow into a booth of glassware.

I hope that someday soon I won't have to do so many of them. I don't see me totally abandoning them, however.

Other than that, we worked on the house. I put together a lowboy to put the tv and all the cable/DVD junk in...so that we don't have wires coming out of all creation. It looks fantastic now. I should take a photo. Then I mowed the lawn, put up shelves, and helped Brian pick out curtains for the dining room and bedroom. We have shades right now, but they are not opaque, and we like for the bedroom to be dark at night when we're trying to sleep! As it is with just the shades, you could probably read a book with all the lights turned out, because there is a streetlight right to the side of our house.
