The Better Man (H/Hr, R/Hr)

Hermione had loved Ron since Second Year. She knew he’d loved her back nearly as long. She’d always expected that some day - at their Hogwarts graduation, perhaps - she’d tell him she knew how he felt, and that would be that. There was always plenty of time.

Now, suddenly, time had run out. There would be no graduation day for the trio. And she’d seen how Harry had begun looking at her.

Harry would have to face Voldemort soon. The Wizarding World could not afford for his heart to be broken.

Hermione loved Ron, but she was nothing if not practical.

Aww, thank you. I'm glad you liked it. I wrote it in the middle of the night, so I wasn't even sure it would make sense. :)
