Fiction -- As Sharp as Any Thorn

Feb 11, 2006 20:33

This was originally posted at dmhgficexchange's Celebrate the Season with Draco and Hermione.

Here it is in a slightly revised version. Unless you memorized the old draft -- which of course you should have -- you probably won't notice much difference. A few moments have been expanded, some lines that made me cringe have been rewritten and so on. So no need to ( Read more... )

Okay, I did practically memorize the first version, so I'm going to really pore over this one with a fine-toothed comb! Actually, I imagine that if you're happier with this one, then it is certain to be superb.

In any event, I popped in before I read it to mention that you should submit this to the On-line Wizarding Library or OWL. They're wonderfully welcoming, and I've just recently moved most of my work there.

All the best, and I'm going to read this again as my dessert, but for now I must make dinner for the eager sons who are salivating at my elbow!

I lied, because I just revised it since I posted (a couple of typos and about 15 words *grins*) But now it's done honest and for true. It's a relief!

I completely understand, and I have yet to tackle "Paladins" which I must, but I fear I've just had some very real work dumped in my lap which will take precedence over everything. It's a short-terms hard deadline sort of project and I've just been pulled into the team.

I will be commiserating with you about lack of time to write... even if my project will be great in the back end.

Anyway, I hope to see your name pop up on OWL one of these days. They really are very nice over there.

No, I mean this is it now, the final version (sounds ominous). So you can read it if you so desire. :P Good luck with your new project.

I have registered at OWL, and I'll try posting over the weekend. Then I shall await fame and fortune. ;P

Excellent. I shall read it tomorrow, well I hope. I have an enormous project dropping into my lap tonight/tomorrow morning, whenever it shows up in my inbox. If it's not there first thing in the morning, then I shall read the story again at breakfast. It's like my very own cinnamon bun!

Oh, I let Potion Mistress (the OWL site owner) know that you're coming over, (as Argosy, right?) so she'll keep a look out for your story.
