I went to Europe for a vacation in early June. I still feel very excited as if it was my first trip there 10 years ago..,
I always have been fascinated with Europe since young: the romantic cobblestone streets, the cutesy castles, the history, and the vibrant cities. Having been to most of the big cities in Europe already, this time round, I decide to go for the smaller towns - visited Bavarian towns along the Romantic Road in Germany, visited my best pal in Verona, crossed the border to Slovenia, then off to Budapest in Hungary, and finally to Switzerland. I won't bore all of you seasoned travelers with the postcard-like photos, but let me share something crazy which I did on the trip...
On the second last day of the trip, i ran out of sights to visit in Geneva, so I decided on a spur of the moment to cross the border into France to try out the world famous Bresse Chicken at Bourge-En-Bresse. What's Bresse Chicken? One of the famous gastronomic produce of France.. Read this link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poulet_de_Bresse So I traveled 4 hours from Geneva to Bourge-En-Bresse, went to a Michelin-starred restaurant to order the chicken for lunch, and then traveled 4 hours back to Geneva. Here's the result of this 8 hour trip:
I am 50 euros poorer because of this lil' chicken...it tastes great....and actually quite similar to the Kampung chicken that you can get at NTUC for $8;)
