Dear Mike,
In one month today, we will have been together for exactly a year. We’ll also be publicly affirming our commitment to each other by getting married. (Although it’s probably more politically correct to say celebrating our civil union.) We’ve known each other now for nearly three years, and there’s been so much that has happened to both of us in that time. But you never doubted me, even though at times I doubted myself. You never stopped caring, even when I stopped caring for myself.
In one month today, our commitment to each other will be officially recognised within the Muggle laws and the wizarding world. I never thought this could happen, not to someone like me. You’ve made me so happy, far more than I sometimes think I have any real right to be. But I don’t care about having the right to such happiness or whether or not I deserve - I want everything you have to give me, and I will not let you go. You’re my world, Mike, and I love you.
In one month today, the entire world will know just how much I love you and how much you mean to me. I promise never to let you go, or break your trust or your love. In one month, everything will be official, even though in my heart and my soul, it already is. And nothing and no one will get in our way.
