He is, naturally, back in his usual outfit. His expression is one of deep thought, or possibly brooding, distant and inward-focused. Finally, he stands, pacing

[She is not his mother, but she is a mother, and no mother could ignore a child calling out. Besides, he sounds just enough not all there to be worrisome.]

Are you well? Have you fallen ill?

[Gaia, PCDs are malicious devices. Sephiroth schools his expression into something more suited for public view before replying.]

Just a headache. I've probably been thinking too hard about something I discovered last week.

I understand, of course. Rest will set you right. Do not dwell too heavily on this week.

Probably best, I admit. Whatever my life could have been, this is what it is.

[He's still...sort of glad to know what his mother looked like, though.]

You will make your own future, whatever past you come from.

[This, she believes more than ever after last week, when she made the wrong choice and wrong future. Oh, hers was not traumatic like some; but she had traded away important possibilities for the sake of a crown on her head sooner.

And yet either way, she made her own marriage, in a world and time where this was all but unbelievable.]

Sometimes it's harder than others. Still, I won't give up on my future.

[Despite the hints that the future waiting for him in his own world isn't exactly a good one.]

Oh, there are difficult times. But in the end, God's will will be done.

The will of deities, unfortunately, is notoriously difficult to interpret. I prefer to depend on my own.

This is so funny when you know what Seph's name means.

That's true enough, I suppose, but it's rarely obvious.

I don't find it hidden. But I am told this makes me fortunate.
