Mission 3 : [Video]

[The PCD is not picking up Sephiroth very well because he's holding it in one hand and moving a lot, but there are flashes of leather, silver hair, and steel. Mostly, what the PCD is picking up is the absolute devastation around him. Sephiroth is out in one of the more urban areas of the Wastelands, and he is destroying it. The mangled corpse of a ( Read more... )

[He'll be there about twenty minutes later, looking rather unimpressed by the damage. Then again, he's seen you almost destroy his Planet, so this is ... tame, compared to it.]

Vincent. [Slightly curt, but it's meant as a greeting, really. This event has torn open a lot of internal scars that never really healed. Some of them the same ones that made him such an easy mark for Jenova.

He's holding his sword, and while it's a loose, almost casual-looking grip, Vincent probably knows better than to think Sephiroth can't attack or defend at will.]

[He does, indeed, know better ... and while he has the answers to close some of those gaps, he's not sure now is a good time to mention them. Not unless Sephiroth broaches the subject at least.

For the moment, he'll resort so what seems to work. He doesn't take his gun out of the holster. Just jumps to go for a melee fight, his other strong point now that he's been given inhuman strength.

Now to go into Sephiroth's maai and past Masamune.]

[Yeah, right. Sephiroth is largely trying to pretend the subject does not exist. He's not bringing it up.

When Vincent comes at him, Masamune whips up sharply towards Vincent's leading arm. He's not trying to remove the limb entirely, but he's not holding back from a crippling strike on it, either.]

[Vincent twists in mid-air, blocking the strike with his claw-covered hand.

Sephiroth feels like he is on edge. He's got that millisecond of ... unbalance.

There are sparks as metal hits metal, and Vincent throws his foot, looking to hit the other man straight in the middle of the chest.]

[He is very on edge, and not used to having to compensate for all this emotional upheaval in a fight.

That's why the kick actually lands, sending him back a couple of steps and knocking the breath out of him for just a moment. The power behind Vincent's strike... oh yeah, that's Hojo's work, alright.

He recovers quickly, though, and one of his materia lights.]

Firaga. [Have fireballs, Vincent.]

(Materia setup for this fight: Curaga, Firaga, Blizzaga, Wall, Quake )

[Vincent blinks as the kick lands. He wasn't really expecting to touch Sephiroth that early in the fight. The young man really must be disturbed by what happened.

The fireballs seem to say, though, that it's probably not going to happen twice. That was a lucky strike.

Vincent's cape seems to take a life of its own, wrapping around him and spinning, becoming a flurry of red tendrils as it zooms between the fireballs.

Not using his gun means he has to either use his hands, or call one of his ... trump cards. He'd rather not do that just yet, and Sephiroth has many ways of fighting him from a distance if he wishes to.]

[No, definitely not happening again if Sephiroth has anything to say about it. He's rather disgusted with himself for letting it happen once.

That's an interesting trick Vincent has there, and Sephiroth quirks an eyebrow before slashing his sword through the air, sending a pair of differently-angled energy arcs flashing out at blur of red.]

[There's some more zooming and doging, but the slashes and oozing cuts on Vincent's face when he finally stops tell that he wasn't quite fast enough.

His own materia are custom-made for his gun, and he doesn't have the power to just draw them out like that. They don't even work in normal slots. In that case ...

A ball of dark light envelops Vincent and Galian Beast arupts from it, a fireball forming in each gigantic paw.]
