My Calculus class had a non-optional final, but if you did really well and demonstrated good understanding of the material over the course of a semester, you could earn an exemption. Me? Earned the exemption and got an A in the class. Cue maniacal laughter.
Still have a test and three exams to round out the semester, but everything will be done by Wednesday and then I am very likely FREE!
Sometimes my mother asks me to look over stuff she's written before sending it as an e-mail/passing it around as an instructional document/whatever. I don't usually find much to pick at, but the one she handed me this time? Was comma deficient on the first page, based on what I could see. That wasn't what she wanted me to look for, but it bothered me nonetheless. I was wondering where my grammar-picky side had gotten to. Maybe I should edit some of my own stuff while I seem to be inclined to do it.
My brain occasionally comes up with ideas for crossovers that stem purely from two characters sharing a last name. The lastest round of this started when I was sorting my tags on Delicious. I happend to notice I had a "Hanamura" tag, at which point I wondered where I'd come up with that. At first, I could only think of Hanamura Yosuke from Persona 4, but that made no sense as I'd have tagged anything featuring him as Yosuke. And then I remembered Hanamura-sensei from Prince of Tennis. And then my brain started wondering how much fun Hanamura-sensei would have with the Persona 4 cast...and which point I promptly told myself to stop that train of thought immediately. I just...no, I'm not sure I want to think about that too much.
So when my parents and I went to see the new Star Trek movie, one of the trailers we saw was for the G.I. Joe movie. It included the bit where the Eiffel Tower falls down. My only thoughts with this? "Well, at least it wasn't Tokyo tower for once." Yeah...I think I've seen a few too many animes/read too many manga where Tokyo Tower gets attacked. We also saw the trailer for Year One, which I've no intention of seeing. Based on what I could tell, there could be comparisons drawn between it and History of the World: Part 1. And I suspect I'd like the latter better.
Speaking of the new Star Trek movie, I thought it was pretty good. I'm trying not to put anything too terribly spoilerific, but there were definitely some things were great to see incorporated. Afterwards, we decided that they'd messed with the timeline and either there could be another movie to fix the timeline or (what's more likely, in my book) we just have an alternate reality (since the idea got brought up during the movie itself).
