Voodoo was a character out of the Wildstorm universe, Originally from a team called WildC.A.T.s . Her powers derived from the fact that she was half alien. More important she was half Daemonite, which was the primary villainous alien race of the series.
I was really not sure how they would give this character a book in the NEW DCU without bringing over the entire Kherubim and Daemonites story line.
Apparently the answer is do a complete reboot and only keep the name and the facts that she is ridiculously hot and wears a very small amount of purple clothing.
In the DCU she is apparently ALL alien and some sort of invader who is trying to learn about humanity by of all things being a stripper.....
yeeeeeeeeah That's the best idea in all of comicdom EVER!(careful some of that sarcasm might drip on you)
The fairly stupid recreation of our heroine aside the book itself was actually fairly good. Ron Marz is a great writer and can even write a good story around a bad premise. The art for this book is almost hyper-realistic. It's a style I tend to like and it works on this book.
I will stay on for the first story arc to see where it goes.
