MORTY Yes, the Gym Leader. I specialize in Ghost-types and I'm a skilled mediator. Surely you've at least heard of me? I know this area better than anyone, now how can I help you miss...

Maraich immediately puts a hand on Vyse's shoulder and points at the him, "Yes, he's definitely a boy."
He whispers quickly to Vyse, "What are you doing? Guys help pretty girls a lot more than they help strange men."
He hopes that he was able to interrupt quickly enough, but he continues talking to Morty regardless, "You can call me Maraich. Anyway, you must be the man to ask, then. Would you happen to know anything about Darkrai?"

Morty blinked a few times and shot Vyse a look. The young pirate fidgeted and answered the unasked question
VYSE I uh...thought you were talking to him...*points towards Valentine* He's a very important man, you know.
MORTY I ...see. Did you say "Darkrai"? Darkrai is a demigod, of sorts. They say on nights such as this it feeds on human misery by lulling victims to sleep and giving them nightmares. Then it devours the nightmares and the victim falls into a coma. But...Darkrai doesn't usually attack anyone this far north...

He waves of Valentine quickly, "You were being slow. Keep up with the group, Mr Important!"
He listens to Morty and thinks about it for a second. "So, how would you cure someone who has been attacked, Sir Morty?" He, of course, elevates Morty's status to flatter him.

Valentine poked his head into the door of the gym, taking a long look around at the strange new surroundings.
Spotting Maraich, he entered and walked over to stand beside him, gasping for breath after the run to catch up with him; "H-hey! What posessed all of you to just-- run off without me, Little Miss 'Ooh, we never leave a man behiiind!'"
((He heard the conversation about calling Maraich a girl through the door, so it's all good!))

MORTY I'm afraid medical science hasn't found a way to revive victims once they've lapsed into a coma. But myth says a feather from Cresselia will awaken people who've been put to sleep. Sinnoh Islanders usually go to Lunar Isle to pray to Cresselia for her help. And their loved ones have woken up. Short of that, giving Darkrai itself a solid "beat down" would also to the trick, I'd imagine. But I pity anyone who would pursue that thing.

"If our only choice is to go ask a god for help, then where's this 'Lunar Isle?'" Eva asked, looking at her cell phone's screen in confusion. "It's not marked on my map."
Spotting Jordan hurrying towards their group, she waved, barely holding back a shout of greeting. Somehow, this didn't seem like the kind of place that would take kindly to people calling out to each other on the street....
((I'm sorry about last night! And messing up the post order again, but as nobody seems to be on....))

"Eva!" Jordan said. "What the hell were you thinking, running off like that? You had me worried sick. I had a hard enough time trying to figure out where you had gone. This world-hopping stuff isn't exactly a walk in the park, you know?"
He was left red-faced and panting after his tirade.
Re: The Ecruteak Chapter: The City Library and What We Found TheremollyforevaMay 4 2007, 01:07:33 UTC
"I wasn't thinking," Eva admitted, looking at the tops of her shoes. "I'm sorry...." Funny, the shoes were blurry now. She squeezed her eyes shut--there was no way she was going to cry in front of all these people. "I just... I panicked and volunteered to help before I'd thought about it. He was talking about 'dark watching him,' Jordan. I thought... I was worried that it was... you know."
She swiped at her eyes, irritated, and looked up at him. "Look, I know I was stupid. I'm sorry, okay?" She grimaced. "Maraich's trying to figure things out. I'm being useless... should've listened to Yunalesca and stayed home... I'm sorry, Jordan."

"Well, if we need to fix a car to get out of here, I'm your girl," Eva said sardonically. "Other than that? I don't think I can do much of use here. I don't even have... feminine wiles like you do!"
She slumped somewhat, continuing, "Neither have I, but didn't Silver mention that the gods were physically appearing around here somewhere?"

Vincent yawned. "I'll pray," He said at length. "For you all to experience a quick and painless death."
His brow furrowed.
"Do you guys really want to take on this Dark thing? Hate to break it to you, but normally? In comas? You don't wake up. Just thought you should all know."
Re: The Ecruteak Chapter: The City Library and What We Found TheremaraihiMay 4 2007, 02:34:58 UTC
"That's a good reason to wake him up before he falls into a coma, right?" he furrows his brows at Vincent, then smiles slyly. Not everyone in their group knew he was a guy.
"But you're a priest, aren't you? Do you think you could do this prayer thing? For me~?"
