Happy new year, all.
I can't believe it's 2008. When I was little, 2008 was a year in which people wore clothing made of metallic fibers and drove hovercars. And here we are, not quite as advanced as I had hoped.
Even so, I feel like there are a lot of important things happening in 2008 that I think demonstrate that we've made some progress, even though I'm not driving a flying car or getting my food from a replicator. I think the simple fact that the next President of the United States is likely to be a woman or an African-American is a freaking big deal. I mean, wow. Finally. So, let's hope that this year will be one of change for the better and more important steps forward. :)
I had a good time hanging out with some friends last night. We watched Napoleon Dynamite, ate bad things, laughed, had some fun with poppers, and we did all of this alcohol-free. We toasted the new year with water, orange juice, and Coke. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I hope you all had a great (and safe) time, too. :D
