well hurricane dennis is nearing land. Should hit somewhere in the gulf by around 4pm(central time) tomorrow. theyre predicting somewhere around mobile, al and pensacola, fl.

more than a million people in the gulf coast have been asked to evacuate. thats a lot of people. at least it isnt a level 5. thats 156+ mph winds. thats like having hundred if not thousands of vipers running full speed going around you. that would be some shit. but Dennis will probably be a level four which means winds at 131+ mph winds. thats 50-58 meters per SECOND.

"As it travels across the ocean, a hurricane can pick up as much as two billion tons of water a day through evaporation and sea sprays. If the heat released by an average hurricane in one day could be converted to electricity, it could supply the United States' electrical needs for about six months."

thats insane. im glad we're only getting squalls ( rings of big storms that come off, tons of rain, thunderstorms, etc that only last a short period of time)

sorry this wasnt supposed to be about the damn hurricane, just amazed at the power of them. Anyway, friday was my last day of work.
