Cynical retreat.

Jan 06, 2003 07:16

The affliction of having his most loathed sibling fracture through the seemingly impervious slab of steel was like a vile phantasm only a dervish could smile at. The resounding drum within his plastered skull deafened the words his moron of a brother utter, and he's most appreciative of his state for that sole reason ( Read more... )

"Ares! So glad I could come to your rescue!" He grins widely. "Hebe will be so pleased."

biting her lip to not laugh hearing the Hero's words, her hand reached out, lithe fingers curling around the War God's wrist, halting his retreat

Leaving, Ares? I'd like a word...

*colliding into Hercules and whirling around, arrested arm torn free antagonistically. Backs away from the both of them, hands elevated and scowl veiling his snarling facial features..*

I'm unquestionably indebted, so much so that your mere proximity makes my stomach churn with anxiety. And you, Isis, I'm sure there is a more appropriate time for a "chat".

"Indebted." He chuckles.

"Don't worry, brother. I'm sure I'll think of something to let you pay off your debt. And far be it from me to keep you from your chat! I'll just make my way home now. Hebe's waiting, you know, and I'm sure she'll want to know what happened."

He turns to Isis. "I'll be on my way. Have a good evening, Lady."

she nodded her head to Hercules

a good evening to you, as well... thnk you for letting me interrupt your day.

her gaze slid from him to his brother, eyes chilling as they did

Oh, I think this is superb time. but I'd hate to inconvenience you.

a brow arched, letting it be known that there were some potential answers to her remrks tht were just *not* advisable.

*grasps the shank of his sword, the stropped blade glinting with a wail against its sheathe as he divulges its candid length before his bombastic brother.*

My detest for you is limitless.
*waves his left hand* ...Not now, Isis.

"Now, now Ares. No time to play. Hebe is waiting, and a gentleman never leaves a lady waiting."

He gives Isis a cheer smile. "Glad to help. Rescuing is part of my job, after all! I'll see you later. Have a good evening!"

He turns and heads for the entrance to the temple. Now, was it a right or left turn at the end of the corridor here?

*sends the blade flipping toward the back of Hercules with complete contemn for every aspect of his retraction from the scene. Aims it to embed it between his congealed shoulder blades, endorsing the image of a stuck pig and the likeness to Hercules. His voice shrills through the marble building*

I hate you!

ARES.

Her tone was one of shock, not condemnation for his actions, eyes widening as she sw the flash of the blade through the air

her brow arched sharper, lips pursing gently as she leaned back to lounge against the wall, hand lifted to allow the perusal of mnicured fingernailed, hed tilted to the side as she listened to the two, llowing him to finish with his brother before persuing her own cause further

The sound of Ares screech and the feel of the sword piercing his body come simultaneously.

He stumbles and falls against the wall, looking down at the bloody blade sticking out of his chest. Only one thought goes through his mind.

I'm going to be late getting back. Hebe is gonna be so pissed at me.

*like a starved wolf, the battle-fixated God's mouth waters at the sight of his crippled prey; Hercules' stooped stance concupiscent to his eyes. Taking a step closer curiously, spreading his left arm out like a shield for the Goddess behind him - a mediocre suggestion for her to remain where she is - Ares pulls a cutlass from his rimmed boot and nears his grisly relative*

Ares... please.

she didn't move in front of him, but she did reach for the non-blade baring arm, trying to hold him back from his brother. All irritation was gone from her voice, replaced with a soothing plead

Not here... not now.
