Upon her knock, Innes answered the door, wearing a loose informal green tunic, simple pants, and nothing on the feet. "Do come in," he invited.

Green? Innes in... green. It was a becoming colour for him. She liked it. Offering a bright smile, she showed herself in. Leaning toward him, Eirika rested her lips upon his cheek. "I still think you're a champion."

Well of course he was. He just lost to Ephraim, which was what irritated him the most. But Eirika could make it livable. He smiled slightly, but enough for her to notice. Oh how he loved her company.

He kicked the door shut and lead her towards the living room.

Such grace and elegance. Except not. She found herself giggling a little at his response and curled an arm around his. She hoped he wouldn't be too concerned with his loss from the dancing competition. It meant she would need to spend more time with him to calm him down.

"Allow me to rephrase. You are my champion." That should be all that mattered, aye? Proving his loyalty and love for her? How better to do so than to simply admit his position?

The smile grew. At least he'd proven himself to her, but now, the goal was to get Ephraim's blessing.

"Tea?" he offered.

And he'd forgotten that he'd already received it. And she hadn't spoken with Ephraim on that.

"An excuse?" she teased.

He wanted to hear the words from Ephraim himself. He wanted it directly and even publicly. It would be most beneficial that way. Innes knew he didn't need Ephraim's permission, but his blessing would help strengthen the alliance between the two kingdoms and would be best for his people.

"It is."

Eirika knew this, of course, and had plans of mentioning it to her sibling. It was highly unlikely that Ephraim would even turn it away.

Innes' response caught her by surprise. Her cheeks coloured and she smiled, "I thought I told you that you didn't have to create excuses. Unless that is your way of playing with me, Prince Innes."

Innes still, in a way, wanted to prove himself to Ephraim. He felt that the Renais prince didn't believe the verity of Innes's feelings for Eirika.

He smiled. "I don't need to." He was already thinking only of her. The tea was just a distraction.

Again, she had no qualms with his feats of proving his love. It was unnecessary, of course, and yet, she enjoyed his attention. She enjoyed his commitment and dedication. She too, wanted to bask in the glory of proving herself for him.

"Far be it from me to tell you what you can and cannot do," she claimed gently. "If you wish for tea, then I shall make some." Never mind that she was in his apartment and not hers.

"Nonsense," he objected. "I have some brewing." He had already set the kettle on the stove to boil and began to brew the tea. Innes was prepared. Just a bit of tea, although it was likely that they wouldn't finish it, leaving it to cool while they had a bit of fun.

Of course he did. He knew her well. The way to get to Eirika's heart was certainly with tea, through tea. Her lips upturned and her expression brightened, if only for his sake. "Are you trying to impress me?"

Innes didn't feel a need to impress her. He knew that he was already good enough. "Just something to start with."

Of course he didn't need to. "Just something to start with..." she echoed softly. "That's a very good start, Prince. Perhaps you'll tell me more about what you have planned?" She leaned into him and brushed her cheek over his.
