Hey-o!
I spent the majority of my weekend away from home. The highlights include:
- serious sweet auntie time with my lil' niece
- chillin' at grandpa's with much of the fam. (and a.kathy from cali!)
- Sat. quilting!
- driving to good music
AND
hanging out with nee and matt!!!! ok, crazy good times. It's like old times down here and I'll def. be sad to head back tomorrow. It reminds me of all the good memories from bingo. Crazy, but I miss this place sometimes. The best thing is that it will always be my alma-mater, and as such there will always be a place for me here. Bing isn' t the greatest city ever, by far, but it's def. an area I will remember for a long time (it's a bit like that hometown thing). Things change, but thankfully we've [nee and I] kept in great touch and it's always really comfortable to all hang out together. Plus, who doesn't love a sleep-over? haha Let's see - curry, wine, movies, presents, LOTs of talking and laughing, late nights, drunk dancing, Ashy antics... the list could go on like crazy. It's just so nice to be able to relax. No school for the moment, and minimal job obligations means I'm a happy gal. This coming semester will be a little nuts (Type A anyone?) so I'm living up my free time while I can.
And can I just say... I'm not huge on the getting presents thing. It's fun, but people often make a really big deal out of it for no reason, etc. Plus there's usually the typical "ok, now what do I do with THIS?" set of gifts. I appreciate the gesture, and care for the person it came from, but look at the thing and have no use for it at all. So then I'm stuck wondering how long I have to hold on to said gift (weighing the guilt factor of getting rid of something from a family member or a good friend) before I can send it to Salvay, regift it, or simply give it in good gesture to someone who I know will like/enjoy it. That said, the percentage of gifts this season (christmas and bday) that fall into that category are next to nill. I received a lot of heart-felt gifts and things which I can see bringing me many years of enjoyment. So, a big THANK YOU to everyone!
That's it for now. Certain other things still plague my memory, but I've given myself a timeline to work these factors out. Besides, there are so many other things to do I can't help but move forward :-D
