Shakespeare and today's cost of living

Here's a marvelous poem from a person who posts on the boards I frequent:

What is it thou wouldst ask of me m'lord?
I come hence with pittance to thee yet to mine own self; tis great wealth.
Aye good sir, due it is and remitted thus but know ye what thou  dost take?

Thou dost take food from the table.
Take thou next fuel for work!
Then thou takest clothing from my child!
Suffering be thy gift to me and mine for such need as thou wouldst have of my money.

Lower the rent you prick!
