Well, here's another meeptastic update. While I usually do a chronologically oriented sort of thing, I figured I'd hit you all with the big news first.
We're having another baby!
Yup, we've got another little one on the way. We just found out a little bit ago that it's going to be a girl (well, is a girl) and she'll be coming right around the same time Tessa did in late March. Tessa stuck it out until April, but we're hoping, for Jess' sake, that this little one will be a little more punctual.
Other than that, all is well here. We're just getting by day to day.
I'm enjoying my new DBA position, but I have to deal with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) regulations, which are a pain. If you aren't familiar with them, do yourself a favor and don't look them up. If you don't have to know, you don't want to. It's good experience for me though.
Jess is working at the Macy's jewelry counter. She's been promoted to diamonds recently, which is cool. She's already getting tired of the job, but that's what work is all about. The pregnancy is killing her as did the last one. Her morning sickness has largely dulled from raging nausea to a mild, but still irritating queasiness. She's eager to get this baby out and going so that in a few years she can do grad school and travel around a bit. She's gone crazy with her sewing. She's made a few quilts and has tackled yet another improvement on her cloth diapering for Tessa.
Tessa gets crazier by the day. She does a little hopping sort of dance all over the living room now and if she's hyper enough she can run fast enough to get us jogging to keep up. Linguistically she's just unbelievable as she has been since her first sign. She does full phrases now and picks up on concepts we're not even teaching her. She does opposites very well. The latest example was a quilt that Jess made. Tessa crawled under it and said 'Not old blanket, New blanket!' And she'll say 'Not milk. Not Juits (juice). Water!' when we give her water. Another big tag line for her is 'No lika the...' or 'No like it!' when she doesn't like something or is tired of it. One of the best though, is when she scolds her toys. She has a whole script. She carries around a little squeeky crocodile we call Steve some of you might remember from our Eau Claire apartment. She'll take it over to Jess' ironing board and shake her finger at him and say 'No, no, honey bunny, don do dat! dat momma toy! Bad Steepfe! bad cockadio!'. I'm not sure where she gets the last part as we very rarely ever tell her she's a bad girl (maybe three times her whole life). Anyway, disturbingly cute as always.
So that's life as it stands.
