I'm replaying Final Fantasy X for no reason in particular (maybe perhaps because I won't be getting FFXIII anytime soon), and I'm remembering just how much I liked Wakka. The only problem is, ever since I learned who his Japanese seiyuu is I tend to mentally redub all his lines as if Doumeki or Zoro were voicing them, with variably fitting and hilarious results. Almost makes me want to buy an import copy and figure out how to mod my PS2. And if I did that, I could even get the International version with the epilogue...
Made my very first inedible mess tonight. While my random messings around in the kitchen haven't always been great, since I only cook with stuff I like I've always been able to eat them. This was the first one I pretty much had to toss after a couple bites. I made baked pasta with white sauce, and it would have been just fine - except I spooned a tablespoon of basil oil or so over it prior to baking. Apparently basil oil is incredibly overpowering (and tastes kind of like licorice). ::sigh::
I tried dousing the whole thing with garlic powder to disguise it after the first bite, but even that didn't work. Shame; it looked like it would have been pretty good, and I had all sorts of tasty vegetables in there. The texture was good, too. But you know how eggplant really soaks up any oil it comes in contact with...? Turns out so do onions, mushrooms, and zucchini.
On the bright side, the
rosemary bread I made to go with it turned out just fantastic.
