Management took away all the stools in the park as punishment for not cleaning enough. Now everyone gets to stand for ten hours a day in the Texas heat. My pregnant coworker gets to use a stool, but she must check it out in the morning and return it to Base during her break, then get it back when she comes back from break.
I'm giving my two weeks notice this week.
My ankle is the size of a baseball and I'm seeing a doctor tomorrow. I can't stand for very long with my ankle the way it is. The least the doctor will do is put me back in the brace.
I nearly passed out yesterday because of the heat. I was better today because I made sure to drink enough water. But I got my break at 4:30, when I'm usually done with break by 4. I had to pee too, but only the barback can take over my stand because we sell beer.
I was given a verbal warning because I miss-entered a credit card amount and was $14 off. The machine caught three of the four numbers of the amount.
They're cracking down harder on people, and I heard the manager was on a firing spree.
Our manager said that he wanted to know if this was only a paycheck or if we really have fun working here. I love the people I work with, and I'm just now being more talkative with them.... but in the end, this is a paycheck to help with school and to ease the financial strain on my parents.
I'm going to look for another job for the school year, hopefully on campus and close to the apartment.
