So... yeah. Update post! I did go on the magical trip to Atlanta that I had been contemplating and I did, in fact, find myself enjoying the place. It was nice to be back in a 'real' city again, even if only for awhile, and it was great to have a chance to hang out with some of the folks from up that way again. It seems like a promising place in both the entertainment and the job market departments, so I guess I'm going to follow through on that move up there after all.
More importantly, I also got to spend some good, solid time with Yai after like a million years. This was probably the highlight of the trip for me, as it gave us a chance to do some talking and to put some things out onto the table *teehee*. I know some people are going to rib me for going back on my oath to stay the hell away from women, but she ended up being just as great and wonderful in person as she has seemed over the years, so. Yeah. I hereby toss my oath and am now counted amongst the 'happily taken' crowd. I would have expected some discomfort and nervousness on my part after what happened the last time and the years I spent flying solo, but I actually feel fine. Optimistic! Very comfortable with her and looking forward to the move in a big way. I guess all it takes is a good woman to smack away years of mistrust and bitterness? Not something I would have believed until now, but I certainly can't complain.
If anything, the only thing that worries me is post-move stuff. I hate making moves blindly, but she really did go out of her way to take care of the things like good location, good facilities, and so forth, so maybe things will be fine. Maybe I'm just worrying too much. It's gonna suck to end up working some entry-level, grunt-ass job again, but that's what it will take to keep the cash coming in while I look around for something a little less idiotic. There's also a McDonald's nearby. How many women would make sure of something like that when looking at apartments? Hohoho.
For the RP folks, I figure I've got about another couple of weeks left with which to frolick and do the usual scenes, but then I'll be having to take a hiatus of at least a couple of weeks while I make my final preparations and proceed with the move itself. If there's something you want to do before then, let me know now! And that... is that. For now.
