Picture Time!

Sep 22, 2010 23:40

I've taken so many pictures over the past month because I like documenting things when I think of them.  I feel like my short-term memory is getting worse and worse, so I'm trying not to rely on memory alone for things.  And trust me when I say that I have been doing a LOT of things these past couple of months.  Nothing really huge, but there are a lot of different things.  So here are some pics.  I also took this idea from chelshock , because sometimes crappy things happen, so I wanted to post some pics that made me happy.

This is the Watermelon Festival in my home county that was held during Labor Day weekend.  There are a bunch of craft and food booths and people wander around, checking everything out.  It's not...a great festival, to be sure, but it's a tradition.  It's usually not on that street, but they're building this huge blight on the landscape called a Justice Center, and so they shut down the street it's usually on.  The baby arm in the first pic belongs to my niece, Hailey.

The strawberry lemonade slush I got at the festival.  It was soooo good, especially with the funnel cake I got.  Mmm...

This was that same day at my grandmother's house.  I was sitting in her yard with my nephew, Connor, and I thought the landscape was beautiful.  It brings back so many memories from my childhood...

One of my girls drew the green robots one night (I wrote the "Second Floor, Wassap?" and "ROBOT LOVE") and another girl drew the pink robot after the first girl had gone to bed.  Yep, we like robots around here.  Sadly, it was erased the next day...

The lake at the junior retreat a couple of weekends ago.  I was sitting on the dock and looked across the lake and was like, "Wait a second...this looks just like the scenery in Fellowship of the Ring where Frodo tries to leave and Sam goes after him!"  A girl sitting next me totally knew what I was talking about.  Yep, we also love LotR around here.  There was also mention of the lake in Harry Potter.

Sitting at the table at the Organization Fair last Thursday.  All of that stuff is mine, actually.  I was irky about letting people look at my idol mags (those are the ones I got from Kinokuniya in SF).  You may also see flumpool, NEWS, and TOKIO in there.  Our club advisor brought us the origami paper from Japan.  That is, indeed, my sloppy handwriting.

What came in my fandom package from CDJapan: Ningen Shikkaku Premium Edition DVD (that I still haven't watched yet), TOKIO's "Nanana" LE single, and Toma's "Endless Fight" photobook.  I was disappointed to see a lot of the papa pics are old ones I've seen countless times.

Fandom package contents #2: Hanamizuki and Seaside Motel photobooks.  OH.  MY. GOD.  The Hanamizuki photobook is SO much lurve.  I adore it and couldn't stop looking at it.  I feel like I've almost seen the whole movie now...almost....Seaside Motel looks insane, but I absolutely love the coloring and tone and retro feel of it.  When it comes out on DVD, I am making the Japanese club watch it.  It's Japanese, it has cultural value!  *runs away*

The NEWS "Live" CD wasn't included with the big package because it wasn't released at the time.  But yes, I got the LE for the awesome live DVD performance of omgsnowexpresswasamazingilovethatsongmorethanLIFE.  I LOVE getting a nice paycheck.  It's so awesome for fandom.

The t-shirt I made for the International Festival just today.  The sakura is red because I had no pink fabric marker.  I should not have tried to mist silver fabric spray.  What can I say?  I was influenced by the girl who actually managed to get it to mist.  Mine was fail.  Still, it's not bad.  All of us that are working the Japan booth on Saturday made "Japanese Culture Club" shirts.

These are pics of my room!  All of the rooms here look like this, but with double the furniture for the two students who live there.  I actually need a rug and nice chair to put somewhere so people will want to come in and watch TV.  The door next to my cabitnet thingy leads to the bathroom.  It has a toilet and a shower.  It's nice to have my own private bathroom again.  I try to avoid the giant mirror over the sink.  My room is constantly in a varying state of cleanliness.

So there we have it.  Some moments from life that have been nice.

Anyone have pics to share?

Ja ne!
