Life is Somewhat Amazing...

Wow, I haven't posted in two weeks.  And not for lack of fangirling, either.  I could give any number of excuses on why I haven't posted.  In fact, I will.  And then I'll tell you that I've actually just been lazy, which is also the truth.  Here are the excuses anyway.

I soaked up what was left of winter break--at WKU, we have a winter term for three weeks right after Christmas break where people can take classes if they want to.  If you don't, you just get a longer break--by staying up late, sleeping in, reading, and downloading kaboodles of J-pop.  I finally managed to read the rest of the manga I bought over the semester and bought the newest LoveCom.  After Christmas, I was pretty much broke, and I REALLY wanted to buy more Hana Kimi and Tramps Like Us.  Lamenting over the fact that I was completely broke, I told Jage who in turn said, "If there is one series to go broke for, it's Hana Kimi."  Which is actually so true.  In the end I compromised and bought LoveCom 4 (the one series I WILL go broke for), the latest Shojo Beat, and a kana workbook which was only $9.99.

I also watched some more dramas.  My Boss, My Hero is LOVE.  I've never really gotten into the older Johnny's, but they are definitely growing on me.  Nagase Tomoya is HAWT and hilarious in that drama.  Bonus: Tegoshi is in it, too!  He's adorable as always.  So after watching My Boss, My Hero, I got on a Tegoshi kick and downloaded all of Gachi Baka! with him and Massu.  And I must say that now they have grown on me.  Even though I love all of News to death, I wasn't as fond of Tegoshi and Massu as I was of Yamapi, Ryo-chan, Koyama and Shige.  Now I adore them even more.  And dudes, why did no one tell me that Massu has some major acting skillz?  He's awesome!  Getting back to the dramas, I finally finished Long Vacation with Kimura Takuya.  It started off kind of slow, but it really picked up after the first couple of episodes.  And Kimura Takuya is also HAWT.  My love for the older Johnny's is increasing.

Concerning J-Pop: GLAY is amazing.  I got their latest album Love is Beautiful, and it's awesome.  I love the songs ANSWER, Saragi no Tou, and ROCK N ROLL SWINDLE.  I also got the album before that The Frustrated, but I haven't listened to it yet.  I also got the first two Orange Range albums which completely ROCK.  Especially Shanghai Honey and Viva Rock.

GReeeeN released their new amazing single "Be Free" from the movie Negative Happy Chainsaw Edge which has that girl who played the kind of snotty girl on the opposite rowing team in Ganbatte Ikimasshoi.  Anyway, get the song!  And watch the video on YouTube!

How exciting/amazing/compelling/faint-worthy/fangirl squee-worthy is it that News new single coming out in February, "Taiyou no Namida" is the THEME SONG FOR THE KUROSAGI MOVIE???  I can't even describe it.  The PV for the movie is out, and there are some great new scenes with Yamapi.  It's sooo unfair that Kurosagi isn't playing anywhere in the US.  You can bet that if they played it in only one theatre somewhere in the US, at least half of the Yamapi fans here and possibly other countries would go see it.  Ahem, coughIwouldcough.

Everyone's also psyched for Uchi's and Kusano's returns and graduation from "trainees."  Since I came into this post-Uchano, I have no strong feelings about it apart from I'm really happy for them.  So, ganbatte, boys!  I know you guys will come back stronger and better than you were before.  I'm really looking forward to Uchi's new drama, too.

And of course, the biggest news of all:

HONEY AND CLOVER PREMIERED!  WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Oh man, I was on d-addicts that afternoon and got the first episode (UNSUBBED, GO ME) and watched it six times before the actual hardsubs came out the next Tuesday.  But that was partially thanks to KameSama's softsubs for the first episode.  I've already seen episodes 1-3.  I LOVE TOMA IN THIS DRAMA.  He's too cute for words.  I already have plans for a couple of fanvids using the RAW videos and the free access I get to the broadcasting department's AVID editing system, muahaha.

I decided the other dramas I wanted to watch, like Binbo Danshi and 1 Pound no Fukuin, would be better watched in the subbed versions.  It's hard enough trying to translate H&C.  Also, I want to save the space on my external hard drive for subbed versions of dramas.

Progess on the book is slowing because I'm having trouble writing the scene where they rescue Hailey from the CIA.  Does anyone know if ventilation shafts are big enough to crawl through?  I always have trouble writing action scenes, so it's good that I'm taking Drama Writing this semester.  My professor is a script doctor, so she might be of some help in this area.

Okay, I'm off with yet another promise to update this thing more often.  I have time for fangirling, so I definitely ave time to write here.  Geez.  Oh, one more note: this is a cross-post from Vox because SOMEONE keeps telling me to update that thing.  And I never do.  It's hard enough remembering to update this thing.  So I'm cross-posting to save time.

Ja ne!
