Gotta Go Back, Back, Back to School Again

This morning in BCOM 366 aka Video Editing at approximately 9:00:

Mr. White: What's one of the purposes of editing?  Specifically, scene expansion?

Girl in Back: To draw out suspense?

Mr. White: Exactly.  Editing is meant to inspire dread.

Class: .................

Mr. White: I mean the scene that's being edited.

So I'm officially back in school.  It feels weird being back, even being back in my JE-filled room.  I don't know what's different, exactly, but something definitely feels different.  For one thing my room smells like it's been closed up for six weeks (which it has) plus the bug spray they sprayed our rooms with.  I actually miss my bedroom at home.  Especially my bed where I could stretch out.  And right now I'm at work, and there's an ice storm in progress.  The bushes outside look like glass.  I dread the walk back to the dorm.  It's downhill.

So, I finally got episode 1 of VOICE into QC.  Hopefully the hardsubs will be out soon.  Speaking of subbing, it really hit me the other day just how many people actually watched Bloody Monday.  When I was working on it, I would see people talking about it, but it never seemed like that big of a number.  Apparently, it was a pretty big number.  I actually kinda miss Bloody Monday.

I finally caught up to the new dramas of the season, woot!  I'll sum them up in a few short words:

Akai Ito: I started watching this because TLS is subbing it, and man, am I sucker for a good romance story.  It's so cute and romantic!  And Junpei is just so awwwwwwww.  The story really interests me, too, because obviously A-kun and Mei have a deeper connection that may be revealed soon.  I just hope they're not brother and sister.  That would take the drama to such a wrong level.  Although I think now that Mei may be the daughter of A-kun's mom's dead friend.  In which case, that's fine, but I don't know how it's such a big problem for them to be together.  They have to be together!  I don't want this to end tragically!

Uta no Onii-chan: At first it seemed kind of boring, but Ohno's acting drew me in.  Can we just say he's the best actor in all of JE?  Okay, okay, maybe not the best, but he's definitely one of the top actors.  I didn't know Maru was in this, either, until I was looking at the Dramawiki pages and saw it.  Yay for Maru's first big drama!  I always liked Maru, even if he is quite spazzy and pervy (a combination that seems to work).  The Prince really annoys me, though.  Why the heck do they put up with him?!  They could totally replace his butt.  He's not that great.

Mei-chan no Shitsuji: Oh man, this is pure crack.  From the first moment I started watching, I went, "This is Hana Kimi and Zettai Kareshi blended together with a big dash of crack."  And it is.  It's just...it's almost too crackalicious.  Hiro is one smoking hot butler.  Nana is actually pretty cool as Mei, who's just a big dork who doesn't care what other people think.  Takeru is actually majorly funny.  A nice change from his serious role as Otoya in Bloody Monday.  He likes Mei.  He so does.  I want him to want to become Mei's butler!  XD

VOICE: Okay...I've been bad.  I haven't even seen the second episode yet.  This tends to happen with dramas I work on.  I put them off until I absolutely have to.  The first episode was okay.  I found it a bit of a stretch that Daiki figured out the kid who wanted to commit suicide just from what he knew.  He didn't know the kid wanted to commit suicide. For all he knew, the kid had just climbed up there because he wanted to.  It was sad, though.  I promise I'll watch the next few episodes soon.

So it's now afternoon--quite a time jump, and I woke up this morning to find this:

What's that white stuff on the trees?  It's ice!  It looks like the trees are made of glass.  We've already gotten an email from the university saying that a tree branch fell and injured a student, so we should avoid walking under trees....Avoid walking under treess...why not just tell us to avoid walking on the hill?  To counteract these pics, I have two pics from back during the early summer of my cherry blossom trees, To-chan zakura (on the left) and Pizakura (on the right).  They outgrew their "cages" which we had to put around them to keep the rabits from eating them.
