Sitting here reading this month's issue of Anime Insider, I turn to page 52 and discover this article:
"Ghost World: Spirit-filled 'Gegege no Kitaro' movie arrives on DVD"
My first reaction was *GASP* *holds picture of Eiji to heart* I was so thrilled to learn it's coming to DVD HERE, America, and all of the extra goodies will be subtitled! *does happy dance*
But then reading the last paragraph, I was sadly disappointed in A.I.'s writers:
This live-action film stars Eiji Wentz, one half of the pop group WaT, as Kitaro. An impressive comedian, he's also starred as Franck in the Nodame Cantabile live-action TV series. Mao Inoue, best known for her role as Akane in the Hana Yori Dango TV drama, costars as Mika.
*shakes head sadly* Everything was fine up until the Nodame Cantabile thing. Yes, Eiji was in Nodame Cantabile. But not the series. He was only in the two-part special. Also, he didn't spell his name F-R-A-N-C-K but rather Frank with a French pronunciation.
And seriously, A.I.: CHECK YOUR FACTS. Inoue Mao does not play AKANE in HYD. In fact, there is absolutely no character whatsoever NAMED Akane in HYD. Her name is MAKINO TSUKUSHI. Seriously, there's even an HYD anime, and her name is not Akane there, either. Is it possible the kanji in her name can be read as "Akane"? If not, Anime Insider, you need to take a little trip to DramaWiki and get your facts straight.
Oh, geez, I just got to the Oricon ratings they publish. The number 1 single for this week? Arashi's "One Love." Um, yeah, at the beginning of August, maybe, when the Hanadan Final Movie was out. Also the top album is GReeeeN's "Aa, Domo, Ohisashiburi," which again was last month. This wouldn't bother me so much if they put a little footnote saying "From the week of ----" you know?
Also, I absolutely MUST see the Death Note movie. It looks more and more awesome every time I read about it or see something about it.
Ja ne!
