On April 3rd I ended my job in Susanville, and headed home only to start heading East towards Colorado. My parents and i stayed at my Grandmas' condo-she died in Nov. and it still hasnt been sold. On route to Colorado I got a call from Humboldt County, they said that they want me to start May 18th, because the other person they hired cant start till that date, and they want to train us at the same time.
While in Colorado we went to Rocky Mountain National park-my dad is now 62 so he bought a lifetime pass for only 10 dollars. The following day my dad and I went snowboarding at a nearby ski resort near Boulder, we had a great time-but I still suck.
One night I couldn't sleep well, I started to check my email and saw that my friend Nicole wrote me an email about her travels in Europe. At the same time my friend Robert was emailing me about wanting to take a trip in April. I started researching going snowboarding with Robert at Mammoth, and realized that it would cost about 500 dollars minimum to do a week of snowboarding. I then started to research plane tickets, and found a roundtrip plane ticket from LAX to Munich, Germany for 500$. At this point it was around 3am, and I knew that if I didnt buy the plane ticket now, I would talk myself out of it the next day. So I bought the ticket. I figured I just made enough money to travel, I've always wanted to go to Eastern Europe, and I have some free time before my job in Humboldt starts... so its either now or possibly never.
My parents were very surprised to hear me tell them that I would be leaving for Munich almost as soon as we return back from Colorado.
I emailed my friend who is traveling, and we are going to meet up in Prague. I secured a couchsurfing host in Munich when i arrive, and he is going to take me to his Bavarian village called Wurzburg.
Some of the places I am planning on going to are: Munich, Prague, Krakow, Budapest, Romania, and Austria--if I have time hopefully I can go to Slovenia and Croatia as well.
I am bringing my netbook with me, and most hostels have free wi-fi, so I should be able to keep in touch easily.
I am so excited, I cant believe I am flying to Munich tomorrow, its so random, and spontaneous, but as usual that's how I like to roll :) .
