I am in Moab, Utah. My dad finished his days of obligation in Colorado, so we left and headed towards the mountains, we spent the afternoon in Breckenridge and Vail, and seeing everyone bike riding, enjoying the beautiful scenery made me envious that I have been to Colorado sooo many times, yet haven't really experienced the beauty of the state.
One of my lifetime goals is to do the bike trail from Vail to Breckenridge.
We decided that instead of taking our usual route back home, that we would head to Moab and see the National Parks there. I have heard of Moab mostly because of its reputation of having legendary mtn bike trails. As soon as I arrived i knew I would love it.
Its not so much that I am soo into mtn biking that draws me to Moab, but that it reminds me soo much of one of my favorite places in the world, San Pedro de Atacama in Chile. The town is filled with young active people, and just gives off a fun, carefree vibe. We went to a brewery in town and our waitress totally seemed like someone I could imagine drinking a few beers with if I lived in the town, in fact I looked around the bar and it was filled with young, active people, who seemed really down to Earth.
I really would love to live in a small outdoorsie tourist town, where new people from all over the world are constantly coming and going. I just think that lifestyle sounds so much fun, and I love meeting new people.
I helped convince my parents that we should spend two nights in Moab, so that we can fully experience the town. we spent all day at Arches National Park. It was very beautiful and impressive, but sooo hot. We did a few hikes, that normally shouldn't be too difficult. But the heat made the hikes seem almost hellish.
I really wish that I didn't have work obligations, because I would really love to travel all around the USA doing part time jobs for a few months-just make enough to live, and then move on to the next city. That lifestyle really appeals to me.
