Hello my dearests! here are the pictures from the picture meme I did a few days ago :D (if you missed it, just ask for whatever you want to see here and I'll post the picture in reply to your comment, okay?)
wethepainted wanted to see my sketchbooks
I've bought the cream-coloured one and the glossy balck one fairly recently, so they are still empty... but I have so many plans for them >:)
Uhm. As you can see, my sketchbooks are not very sketchbook-y /o\
Dear Ace also asked to see my favourite shoes. I have a burning love for ballet flats and converse and tiny boots. These are my very favouritest pairs <333
xbeax asked to see my favourite book.
"Le Mirabili Avventure di Capino Rosso" (which losely translates to "Little Red Head's Wondrous Adventures"). My grandma read this book to my sister and I when we were little, a chapter every time we went to her house. Needless to say, we made her read it to us multiple times, even if both of us were already able to read it on our own.
Story goes that the author lived in the flat above my grandparents' and when he got the book published, he gave a copy to my dad and his brothers and sister
As you can see, my dad's youngest brother wasn't keen on reading as much as scrawling on it :(
Smunchkin and I love this book an awful amount and the fact that there's only one copy of it has been cause of an embarassingly high number of discussions on who was going to get it when we left home. I've been trying to find another copy for sale for years, but so far no luck :((( I am this close to pay someone to steal it from Florence Central Library omg!
young-knavery asked to see my favourite window to look out of
I love this window so muuuuch! It faces our garden and the private park nearby. Look how pretty it is :D It is totally one of the two reasons that make the living room my favourite room (which is what
themostepotente wanted to see :))
The other reason is that all our books are there :D
laria-gwyn asked to see my favourite building in Rome. Unfortunately, I seem to have lost all the pictures I took of the steps that lead up to the Pincian Hill :((( You'll have to content yourself with a pic stolen from the internet (to make up for it, next time I'm in the centre, I'll spam you on twitter with pretty picture of lovely buildings!)
aznanimefan wanted to see my bedroom :) You are lucky because I did a bit of cleaning up yesterday :P
I share with my sister :) Bunk beds are the best because they save a lot of space. I got the one on top because Smunchkin doesn't like sleeping far from the ground (none of that 'I am the oldest so I get the one on top' stuff /o\)
Fun fact: see how the wardrobe is not flush against the wall? I use that little space to store all the big canvases and stuff :)
Also featured: my old red kickboxing gloves (Ah! Didn't see that one coming, did ya?) and also my old rocking horse. Mum tries to get me to throw it away at least five times every year. I don't see her winning any time soon :P
And this is my desk, where all the clutter lives \o/ (and no, that one is not a PASIV case. Woe /o\)
Close-up of the wall beside my desk
On the left
Things you can see here: some of my Disney pins, the stuffed bee my sister made for me, a picture of my first pet, a doodle of myself dressed as cupid that a friend did in highschool <3
On the right
... Um. You might have guessed by now that I collect pins? I ♥ PINS! A LOT!
Other interesting things: a snitch! Another doodle of myself drawn by the same friend from before! An issue of MarieClaire with pretty pictures.
toodelicious wanted to see my favourite place to spend time. That would be my garden :)
Peace and quiet and all the sun \o/ If the benches are already occupied, I default to the chair on the balcony
because it has this view
Now,
sunsetmog asked to see a ridiculous amount of things. Let's start with books!
My family tends to keep all the books in the same place, unless they are books we are particulary fond of.
Uh. There are double (and triple) rows on most of the shelves because Smunchkin and I are loathe to get rid of books and when we moved earlier this year, we stashed books in boxes not labeled "books" in order to save them from our parents' book-cleaning spree. Take away food and clothes, but leave us our books!
(see that red helmet on top of the bookcase? That's my first motorbike helmet! My parents used to go on rides and put me in the middle! When I was barely 1 year old! We are all crazy here!)
Anyway, books. Smunchkin and I plan to organize them in a decent order next month. The only thing we already accomplished was putting the English ones all together :\
All the red and the brown ones used to be my grandma's :) She was an avid reader of all genres... except harlequins.
Here are some reference books, comics and the English ones
Did I ever tell you how much I love the Ducks? A GREAD DEAL, THAT'S HOW MUCH!
Here is our Harry Potter collection. Not featured are the HP books in Chinese, which are Smunchkin's and she keeps them separated from the others because they are very special!
Umm. I realize that the titles won't mean much to you unless you speak Italian or know the authors...
So I'll name some translated titles and we'll call it a day, yeah?
A selection from these shelves: Sense and Sensibility, Zeno's Conscience, Democracy and Communism, The Pickwick Papers, Kamasutra, Each In His Own Way, The Female Orgasm, The Prince
The Charterhouse of Parma, Master of Time and Space, Italian Fairytales, Marcovaldo, The Cloven Viscount (the other two in the series must be on another shelf...)
Supernature, The Secrets of Rome, Zorro, The Brotherhood of the Grape, Steal You Away.
The Subtle Knife, Northern Lights (yes, we also have them in Italian because reading in English is a bit tiresome for mum), The 13 1/2 Lives of Captain Bluebear, Men on Men,
The Idiot, God's Grammar, The Bar Under the Sea, Bleak House, Geography Club, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, Fools Die,
Buddenbrooks, The Rotters' Club, The Wrench, Equador, Chronicles of Narnia, Spiderwick, The Nonexistent Knight (told you!), Flatland, Lolita.
Here are the books I managed to organize by author, so there's most of Benni's work, Pennac, Baricco (HI Baricco, HI! MARRY ME!) and loads of other book I read in school :)
These are my tresured books! They used to be my mum and dad's when they were kids, so they are all classic children books <333 this is where I come clean and tell you my most embarrassing secret: I own five versions of Treasure Island. I am kind of obsessed with that novel.
Mel also wanted to see the clutter and special things and something framed, which are all things that can be found on my desk
BAM! CLUTTER! Let's see, special things here.... My classic Disney mugs, a tiny framed drawing that says 'A true friend is the best possession', painter!Snoopy figurine, my CD and DVD collection, the environmentalist troll, Coffee Bean the brown stuffed unicorn Smunchkin sewed for me <3
From top to bottom: all the letters and cards I've received from friends over the years <333, a guache painting I did forever ago, a picture of myself when I was 14 we will not look at any closer than this, my manga collection, the jingling ball that was my first toy ever, Ziprian the bear which was the first thing I ever saved money for (at the tender age of 8. What? I was part of the Trudi Fanclub. That bear is handmade and numbered!), my art books, the books that are very special to me and Penguin's Quotations book.
And this is a framed picture of myself when I was two, I think. As you can see, I was already obsessed with bees and copic markers.
Trivia: the framed drawing in the back is the only drawing of mine I ever put in a frame. I kind of hate putting things I do on the wall. Everyone is very displeased with me :(
And that is all.
