Remember that art challenge over at
art-bingo? The one titled "It's a Small World"?
Yesterday I turned in
my response for the prompts I was given. (The bigger version of that picture up there is
here)
It was a really funny challenge. I got the Lesotho bingo card and boy, was it hard?
But I really like how it came out (also, I got to draw hands *twirls*) :)
Speaking of drawing.... OMG I GOT ASKED BY THREE PEOPLE TO TATTOO THEM!!!!*does three cartwheels*
One of them is my best friend, and I already did a tattoo on her, but the other two were quite a surprise! They are both people I went to elementary school with (o.O) and they contacted me one after the other. One is a bo-- GUY (he's not a kid anymore! We are all adults! How weird is that?) I played football with a lot, while the other is a girl kids teased a lot when we were younger. She's the one I'm more excited about because this will be her first tattoo (I'm kinda nervous :|).
Anyway, on to other things...
I'd like to thank
unaccompanied-g again for the icons she made for me.
Thank you sweetie! They are fabulous! I love them to pieces!
Just to put something that is not all cheery/happy/exciting in this post, I'd like to make clear that I HATE WRITING AND I WANT TO GIVE UP, OK? but I won't because I'm going to beat this stupid thing into submission! It's a matter of principle!
Also, memetime!
Got this from
of-silverandskyComment to this post and I will give you 5 subjects/things I associate you with. Then post this in your LJ and elaborate on the subjects given.
Panic at the Disco
Oh... the Panic boys! When I found bandom, it was all about Fall Out Boy and MCR, I was vaguely aware of this group of pretty boys (oh, the error of my ways!). But then I stumbled over their cover of "This is Halloween" and thought 'Woah self! These boys are pretty and talented? What the f*** have you been doing, not listening to them?' so I went and downloaded AFYCSO, listened to it one time... and I was sold. Forget Patrick and his genius arrangements, Gerard's vision, Andy's beat and all the rest. These guys were awesome. Their music was catchy and sharp, they used synt and accordion (how much do I love them for that? Let me count the ways...) and the singer's (because I still didn't know their names!) voice gave me goose-bumps and What. The. Fuck? I fell in love!
When they started playing those skele-song of what would later become my "Favourite Album #2", I was so excited because they were so different from the AFYCSO ones! I hopped a plane to freaking London to catch one of those promo-tour dates they did before Pretty.Odd. came out and had the time of my life.
And then they went and wrote Pretty.Odd. and I found out that there's really no limit to the amount of love you can feel for four guys who write music and play and sing together and have a lot of fun while doing it.
So, yeah. Panic at the Disco.
Kitchen porn
I guess this refers to the bandomized recipes? The first set was
milenaa's birthday gift. At the time I had just friended her, but I found her to be really funny and cool and I noticed that it was her birthday and I wanted to give her something and the only things I knew about her were that she liked Panic (it was actually how I found her. See? Panic enrich your life! trufax!) and cooking. How to mix the two? And thus was born the first bandomized recipe. As for the second... well. I have all these ideas about this hypothetical "Panic! in the Kitchen" series, so the second one is "set" in the same universe of the first recipe's yet-to-be-written-fic. Also, I have a food kink.
Blink 182 reunion
I stopped eating my lunch when they announced they were on indefinite hiatus. My heart tripped over itself when I found out about the reunion. Enough said.
Italy
I love it and hate it at the same time. My country is beautiful, sunny, rich of history and people that treat anyone as family, but is also closed-minded, too attached to old traditions and not cared for like it deserves. Italy is my home, but it is also a place I feel trapped in. It's a place I'd like to feel I could return to and find a place where to be for a while, but not a place I'd live all my life.
Weird Ass Restaurant
I irl LOLed so hard when I read this! The "cock" restaurant is quite hilarious, but it's not the most peculiar one here in Rome. There's one called "The Swearword" where the waiters (and waitresses!) must talk to the customers using swearwords (or they get fired!) so if you were to go there, an exchange between you and the waiter would go like this:
You: Hello! We'd like a table for 4--
Waiter: And what the fuck do I care? (makes a gesture to sign to follow him) Can't believe these fucking assholes who can't find a fucking table themselves.
(brings you the menus) What do you fuckers want to drink?
You: Water and a bottle of wine
Waiter: Wait for it.
It goes on with offences, cusswords, reference to your mother's not-so-chaste job, jabs at your own sexual prowess and much more. Yes, we people from Rome are not sane :)
