I just saw a Wellesley professor on the WCSH news! Chip Case was talking about the economic effects of a tax cap. It's a shame I didn't get to take any classes with him.

I spent last week in Washington DC attending a Benefit Financing Seminar for work. Some of the sessions were exceedingly boring, but some were pretty interesting, too. Plus I got to meet people from all over the country. Of course, I had a really hideous cold the whole time I was there, and we didn't see the sun at all, but hey, it was a week away from the office in Augusta.

And I'm scheduled for another training November 15-19. Well, really from the 16-18, but I get a day of travel on either side. Because it's in Kansas City, Missouri. I've never been to Missouri before. I'm looking forward to it. I'm going to be learning the PROMIS software, which is used in the LAUS and Mass Layoff programs. I guess I'm going to be in charge of the programs that use the PROMIS software. Whee!

I had a very nice chat today over email with Dave, who is one of the few other under-30s at the DoL. He started work the same day I did, although he worked for the state before in Revenue Services. It was good to talk to someone at work who is about my age and with about the same experience I have.

Sox game tonight! We get to see Ortiz play first and Pedro bat. Hee hee hee. Interleague play amuses me.
