(no subject)
Have finally banished some of the laziness and am posting. I'm back, of course, with all the usual problems accompanying me - a persistent cold in the head (which are actually allergies), constant nitpicking from my mother, who doesn't realise that if within four months my room hasn't become a biohazard I should be able to take care of it myself, itchiness around the eyes and - actually, around the body, another nagging itchiness around the eyes, and a general complete lethargy, which might be equally attributable to a lack of purpose (the Hindi learning is, of course, only coming along in fits and starts) and to an absence of caffeine. Walked by Starbucks twice today in the space of an hour and tried not to think about lattes (was near Indian High Comm; now that was a disaster I don't want to talk about soon) . Finally had a chocolate hit with kinder bueno (there was an ad on TV, I nearly drooled right then and there) and a Belgian brownie yay :D
Other than T and H coming over on Monday, seeing V and Lav on Sunday, seeing N and S's V, the parents (which was very very nice) haven't had much else to do in the outside world. I've been trying to stay at home, but OH THE BOOKS I AM NOT READING it's killing me. And I can't even read Foucault's Pendulum properly - although the dialogue! The Italians! The intellectualism! Oooh! More later! - because I keep having this urge to look up everything, all the Judaism and the Templar stuff that I can't get around. Won't have time to do that at all in India, because this one's going to be a whopper: 3rd to 7th in Kovalam, after that increasingly frantic preparations for the poonal (ugh saris) and right after that a trip to the temple and my grandparents' old house which is going to be sold off soon.
Anyway, dinner - which is not a blood freaking sandwich hurrah for indian food!! - so am going to eat idly and chutney now :D
