My friend in maths class happened to look round at me and casually remark, "Do you know, it's only one more month of school?"
At this I thought:
1. ONE MORE MONTH TO SINGAPORE
2. one more month of slogging away at stupid maths problems
3. ONE MORE MONTH TO FINALS burble glug government! Bio! Bio! Maths! ABSTRACT LIT CLASS DUE NEXT MONDAY NO IDEA WHERE TO START blurble
I haven't even decided anything to do with my Lit abstract, except maybe ivory collection in Heart of Darkness compared to gold plundering in the Americans by Columbus, which isn't even a thesis. Also, today was my day for feeling stupid (bio, lit presentation) , so now I feel slightly down :P Will be getting marks back this week as well so not going to be a good week. Ugh government reading.
I'm getting royally sick of writing here about my school thingummies. If only I had something interesting to write about - like my most recent author obssession (none), or something interesting that happened over the weekend (absolutely nothing happened over the weekend, except I watched very old Friends episodes (totally reminded of julius caesar: "...out of use and staled by other men/Begin his fashion...") and did my scholarship application and worried over the lit presentation).
About the only thing interesting now is that I've recently become addicted to the Water soundtrack - I especially like Aayo Re Sakii and Piya Ho. There's a tinge of sadness through the entire movie that's just short of wrenching, unless you want to look at it aesthetically from a distance. I've seen the videos for some of the songs, and there's a sort of ethereal sense of culture-ridden, pure India (even though it was actually shot in Sri Lanka, because of the protests (idiots)). Lisa Ray is gorgeous. Polish/Indian descent - talk about a lucky conjunction of stars and genes! I really want to see the movie. IndiaGlitz is disappointed with it, apparently because you can't walk out of it feeling entertained. Well, hell, no, it's the sad story of Indian widows, there's no happy ending, you donkeys. I wonder who the hell writes their reviews. Chock full of Indianisms (questionable grammar missing 'a' and 'the', brimming over with elipses, unnecessary adjectives) and not even a good sense of the movie. In whatever case, A. R. Rahman is a genius. By the way, the guy I was writing about the last entry - he likes Wodehouse and Blackadder too!! Finally! Someone with real taste! (Well creepy-guy-I-met-last-semester-who-isn't-all-that-creepy-anymore also likes Wodehouse, but anyway)
