Fuck you, Ichigo. Fuck you. I wanted to comment, I wanted to ask why he did that, what would make him say that, what were your reasons, but then I look at how much of a fucktard he is in canon and I just sigh and want to kill him for Renji.

Yes, sadly, Ichigo is an idiot. It's been shown thousands of times. And the little Plot Bunny Renji in my head was REALLY pissed off about it so... voila! This was the result.
