My time is being stretched thin as of late and with school starting up again soon I need to make a change to keep myself from going truly insane. this includes setting up some rules to follow to help me manage my time. These rules
1. No New Table-top games/characters: Character creation takes up so much time for me. It interferes with me doing other things that I need to do. I've got quite a few characters in storage in random places if things are required, but that does mean that Jesse's game will be the last game i join in quite a while and that I will not be making a new character to join back into Dave's VtM game.
2. No more than one Table-top at a time: Since I will be working 5 nights a week that only leaves me 2 nights a week for any other activities. Regular games have kept me from going out on dates with my fiancée and other social outings and if i have two games and 5 days of closing that leaves no nights open for things to do so no more that one game at a time.
3. No more that 90 minutes of TV time in a day: I have wasted many hours of possibly productive time being lazy in front of the TV. I have not been able to do all of the things I should do and I need to break myself of my TV watching habits. This rule is only adjustable in the case of watching a movie on the TV with Kelly.
4. No more that 90 minutes of video game time in a day: same as with the TV rule
5. No more that 5 group based social outings in a month: not too much explanation behind this one, its to have enough time to study, do homework, and keep me from spending more money than I have. Table-top games count towards this total.
6. No more that 5 dates out of the house with Kelly in a month: This is also to stop me from spending more money than I should.
7. Create a Time Schedule and a Budget: This so that I can have a good view of how my time is spent and where my money is going. I have never balanced a check book before. all i do is spend money, spend more money, and then have only a little money left and I end up wondering what happened to my money.
8. I will spend at least 1 hour every night on school related study/homework. even if I don't have homework, or a test to study for, I will at least review previous problems, rethink solutions, and maybe branch off on a topic related to the material in order to learn more.
Other things to do.
I will refresh my knowledge on my currently known programming languages. I will relearn C++, Java, Pascal, and HTML. I will also learn a new Language every semester from here on out. This semester's new language is going to be a very basic one, Visual BASIC. I will also go back to the chiropractor that I have been seeing to keep up with my health. I will also see a councilor about possible depression issues or other emotional issues i have. More to be added later. rules to be changed as necessary to fulfill the intended purposes.
