The more I know, the less I know...

So I know I said I was going to start writing the QAF regency AU in December, and I've been reading and taking notes on things since September... and written even less of it the more I read. There's been a surge in queer historical scholarship in the past ten years, and the more I read on masculinities and ideals of masculine friendship and tropes of queer affinity in the 18th and 19th centuries, the more I realize that so many of my assumptions have been false, or just wrong enough to set my teeth on edge now.

There's got to come a point where I put my foot down and say 'okay, here's where my drive for authentic understanding has to stop,' or I'll never be able to get back to just making interesting words.

But I have so many pretty books to read, all piled up beside the bed... and each one has a new piece of my puzzle.

On the other hand, fanfic, not PhD.

But but but revisionist theories of Georgian female romantic friendships and the erasure of lesbian sexuality in earlier twentieth century analysis...

You see my problem. XD

In the meantime, Young Avengers Profs!AU. Next chapter's at my content beta, so hopefully I can edit and post sometime before the weekend. Whee!
