I think I forgot to mention this, but last Monday I got a package in the mail and....................
DEREK TOTALLY FUCKING BOUGHT ME THE HARDCOVER ALAN LEE ILLUSTRATED LORD OF THE FUCKING RINGS.
AHHHH. AHHHHHHHHH. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
I was so fucking surprised. It's not that he's cheap...... but.... the book is really expensive and I didn't think he was the big elaborate gift giving type like I am. And I'm totally not like one of those obnoxious people who just like getting expensive things for the sake of getting them --- I would love this equally (or even more) if it was 99 cents. I'VE WANTED THIS FOR SO FUCKING LONG. AHHH. IT'S BEAUTIFUL AND SO IS HE!!! he's the best not-really-boyfriend-whatever-thing ever !
Emmy and I both have it now (though hers is three volume) -- which means that we can move onto step two of our plan for world domination. And that also means my beloved rhodora can have my old copy!
I was flipping through it the other day and I started crying for a number of reasons. I want middle earth, sib, nashvillians, asstralians, etc
