I've just discovered a very good Tolkien blog by Jason Fisher. I recommend people read all three parts of the Errantry post and click on all the links. His Mythlore reviews are very good as well. I wish I had time to explore it more thoroughly, but it does confirm the general impression I've had for quite a few years now that we are living in the golden age of Tolkien scholarship. I came to it while searching for references to 'ruel-bone' in medieval romances (just read a version of Thomas The Rhymer from my birthday present which featured 'rewell bone' and 'beryl stone' and my mind went off along its wonted path). Anyway, there's so much good work out there now, I've lost all hope of keeping up.
